'Ricardio The Heart Guy'
Season 1, Episode 7
Finn and Jake save Princess Bubblegum (yet again), and at the party she throws later on when they get back to the Candy Kingdom we are all introduced to Ricardio, someone no one has seen yet. He's intelligent, smooth, and due to Finn's jealousy over the attention given to him by Princess Bubblegum, something about him just seems evil. Finn sets out to prove that he's a villain.
Though I've heard some people call this one of the more throwaway episodes of the first season, I say phooey to them. Because in all honesty, the sher presence of George Takei makes this one of the most memorable. Ricardio is among the weirder and more disturbing characters in the show, especially visually. The animation of this character is bizarre and weirdly-detailed, and with Takei's overly dramatic delivery, he becomes all the more odd to watch. The rest of the visuals for the characters in the show are so simple, and Ricardio is much more defined and it makes him into almost a horror villain. Though the "twist" that he's actually evil isnt one that you could ever not see coming, the unsettling nature of this episode make it unforgettable. And with the amount of humor in some of the dialogue and, as I said before, George Takei's performance, this one does leave a pretty strong impression. It won't blow your mind, but it won't be an episode you'll likely forget.
