Top 5 Movies of the Year: Part VI (2000-present)

Due to the fact that the new decade is only 2 years in, I've decided to leave this list open-ended and have a total of 12 years on this last segment of the list.

PART I: The 1950s
PART II: The 1960s
PART III: The 1970s
PART IV: The 1980s

Top 5 Movies of the Year: Part V (1990-1999)

The first decade where I know for sure I could compile solid top 10s for each year, but once again, I'm sticking with my original plan and will restrict myself to only 5 for each year.

PART II: The 1960s

Top 5 Movies of the Year: Part IV (1980-1989)

Probably my most bland entry in this set of lists, the 1980s really weren't my favorite decade for movies...

Top 5 Movies of the Year: Part III (1970-1979)

This list was incredibly hard for me to narrow down; I could have probably come up with pretty decent top 10 lists for each of these years, but that's not what these lists were for! Anyway, on to my favorite decade for movies -- the 1970s.

Top 5 Movies of the Year: Part II (1960-1969)

Ordering some of these was ridiculously hard for me and I had a surprising amount of great movies that I had to cut entirely, but I stand by my choices.

Top 5 Movies of the Year: Part I (1950-1959)

Because I haven't made an enormous set of lists in a while, here is Part I of my top 5 best movies of each year list. Couldn't fill out any other decade before this, so I've decided to start here...

The Woman In Black

The Woman In Black

Directed by James Watkins

Despite its cliches and heavy reliance on simple jump-scare tactics, The Woman In Black still stands as one of the better entries to the horror genre in recent memory thanks to strong visuals, performances, and - for lack of a better term - meager amounts of silliness.
